Hayley gets flirty with the flames at thirty
| 3rd February 2012For Hayley-Louise Hopkins from Gloucester turning 30 in August this year is going to be a massive milestone in her life.
Wanting to make the birthday a positive event and not getting daunted at the thought Hayley-Louise established a list of “30 things to do before 30”.
“I wanted to do things which were fun, silly and to be honest a bit random which I could look back on in ten years time and be pleased with my achievement” said Hayley-Louise. “I heard that Winston’s Wish were holding a fundraising firewalk through twitter and with a firewalk being number 28 on the list I signed up straight away”.
“Having spoken with people who have directly benefited from the support Winston’s Wish offer I know the money I raise from this event will help reach more bereaved children and their families” continued Hayley-Louise.
Other things on Hayley-Louise’s list include taking belly dancing classes, watching the sun set over Loch Lomond, going on a road trip, reading ‘war and peace’ and singing in public.
There is still time to sign up and join Hayley-Louise and the other 35 participants. The challenge is taking place at Brickhampton Court Golf Complex on Saturday 11 February at 7pm.
2012 is the 20th anniversary year for Winston’s Wish and the charity is hoping to raise £20,000 from this event. All participants will receive a thorough two hour training session where they will be offered the courage and skills needed to release fears and embark safely on this motivating and exhilarating challenge. The firewalk is being led by a team of experienced and highly skilled professionals from Blaze firewalking, who will ensure the event is safe and successful.
A £50 non-refundable deposit upon registration secures your place in the event and a minimum sponsorship or donation of £150 is needed to take part. To sign up today and bag your place please visit www.winstonswish.org.uk/firewalk .
